YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County is proud to announce the expansion of its Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking Crisis Services into Adams County, strengthening regional support for survivors and ensuring that more individuals have access to trauma-informed care and critical resources. This expansion reflects YWCA’s long-standing mission to empower survivors, promote community safety, and advance justice across South Central Pennsylvania.

As the demand for comprehensive crisis intervention and advocacy services continues to grow, YWCA recognized the need for expanded coverage in Adams County. Survivors there now have access to the full continuum of services provided by YWCA’s highly trained crisis response team, including a 24/7 hotline, medical and legal advocacy, counseling, safety planning, and emergency response following incidents of sexual assault or human trafficking.

By extending its reach beyond Cumberland County, YWCA aims to reduce barriers to care, especially for those living in rural areas where resources are limited. The expansion also provides a unified response model across county lines, enhancing collaboration with regional law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community partners.

This expansion has already strengthened partnerships with local hospitals, service providers, and victim advocacy networks in Adams County, creating a more connected and responsive system for survivors. YWCA’s crisis advocates are now able to accompany survivors to medical exams, provide court accompaniment, connect individuals to counseling and basic needs, and support long-term recovery efforts.
