Previously called Girl Power!, Empower & Equip is an award-winning, free empowerment program for middle and high-school students. Empower & Equip is meeting in person for Fall 2021.
What?
Empower & Equip is an empowerment program for all students in middle school and high school. All Empower & Equip programs are facilitated by the Community Impact Team of YWCCC.
Who?
- All students in 6th, 7th & 8th grade at Lamberton & Wilson Middle Schools. Empower & Equip gives students the tools they need to achieve academic and personal success, understand themselves and the world around them, develop future-oriented goals and recognize the influence of gender and racial stereotypes within society.
- Students are invited to participate during their lunch period by the Guidance team at the middle schools.
Where & When?
- 2021-22 School Year
- YWCA Carlisle recruits prospective middle school students during the third and fourth weeks of August, and Empower & Equip sessions run from September to May. Empower & Equip meets at Lamberton Middle School and Wilson Middle School during lunch periods.
