As YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County prepares for the year ahead, 2026 promises to be a year defined by continuity, connection, and community impact. Over the past few years, a number of signature events have grown into meaningful traditions, moments that bring together partners, supporters, allies, and neighbors. In the coming year, these events will return.
The Persimmon Awards will continue to highlight the extraordinary individuals whose leadership and service align with YWCA’s values. This celebration not only honors local changemakers but also inspires our community to consider how each of us can contribute to out community.
Walk the Mile, our community walk raising awareness about violence, is returning for its third year. Participants walk in solidarity for safety, accountability, and collective responsibility, reminding us that violence prevention is everyone’s work.
In partnership with the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce, our annual Chamber Mixer offers a chance to connect with local businesses and leaders. These connections contribute to advancing our programs and expanding the resources available to those we serve.
The Circle of Giving Reception and Circle of Angels Reception, both newly revitalized events, bring donors, advocates, and friends of the YWCA together to celebrate generosity in action. These gatherings highlight how philanthropy fuels our crisis services, programs, and community initiatives.
Together, these events embody who we are: an organization committed to serving our community. As we step into 2026, we remain grateful for the continued support of those who walk alongside us and look forward to another year of shared purpose and meaningful impact.
