Annual full-day camp for Cumberland County elementary students on MLK Jr.'s Holiday
About this program
Martin's Mission Overview:
YWCA Carlisle is hosting our annual Martin’s Mission (formerly King’s Kamp) elementary day camp on Monday, January 20, 2020. Martin’s Mission seeks to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s testimony to racial and social change. Martin’s Mission is at no-cost to you and your family, and runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Our program will involve students in fun, interactive activities and discussions focused on the principles of Martin Luther King, Jr.: equality, justice, peace, and love.
Workshops and activities will be led by the following community partners: Carlisle Arts Learning Center (CALC), Dickinson College, Messiah College, Shippensburg University, Camp Hebron, Peaceful Poses Yoga, Unleashed Potential, Hurt Free Schools, Hope Station, AMP Global Youth, Carlisle Police Department, and local therapy dog owners.
Our program is designed for elementary-aged students from Kindergarten through 5th grade in Cumberland County. This one-day, free camp fills up quickly, so be sure to register your child early!
Please complete the 2020 Martin’s Mission Youth Participant Form – one per child – and return it to YWCA Carlisle by Wednesday, January 15, 2020 to guarantee your child’s space in our program. Enrollment in our MLK Jr. Day program is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The registration form is located on the sidebar to the right. For more information, contact Ashley Burkett, Community Impact Manager at 717-243-3818 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Martin’s Mission will be held at YWCA Carlisle, located at 301 G Street, Carlisle, Pennsylvania 17013.
